This is the type of project where we really excel. Conceptual flash with custom created environments & innovative gameplay. Our client, Exopolis, asked us to design and develop a game for Doom, The Movie centered around three basic training levels that lead up to one final level combining the skills learned earlier in the game. Each skill is rather basic, but the game gets more complex and rich as they are all mixed together for the “deployment” final level. We created a target practice game that uses the mouse, a medical training game using ASDF keys, and a GPS building control game that uses the space bar. During the deployment level you must guide healthy soldiers to your position without directing letting them come into contact with infected mutants. If one of the infected shows up, you must heal them, or if a mutant shows up, you must shoot it before it attacks you and ends the game. The final requires you to use both hands to play, which is a bit more complex than most Flash animated games.
Except for the hand/gps animation in the beginning of the game, we designed and illustrated the entire interface and game levels including the final deployment screen that includes animated soldiers and mutants. All of the art is custom created, or sourced from stock photography, and movie stills. This game site fit into the overall style of the Doom movie site which was designed and developed by Exopolis for Universal Pictures.
