This extension simplifies ExpressionEngine development by making weblog & field short names a little easier to find.
BN Short Name Extension
Overview
This ExpressionEngine extension will display your custom field {short_name} after the field label in the publish/edit form. If you’re tired of hopping back and forth to your “edit custom field names” page and then clicking through to the field group to look up a custom field name when you’re generating your templates, this will make your life a little easier. Once installed, If you visit your publish/edit pages, your custom field short names will be visible after the field label. As of version 1.0.3 it will also add the weblog’s {short_name} to an edit drop-down menu (this is compatible with EZ Edit Menu Extension)

2. Installation
The extension file should go in the extensions folder, the language file in your respective language folder.
3. Usage
After installation, navigate to admin>utilities>extensions manager>Bn Short Name extension and adjust the settings to suit.
